Special Needs Adoption
Love Without Boundaries believes that every child born deserves to be loved. In a new initiative, we are providing the adoption community with educational information regarding the most common pediatric special needs. Our hope is that many more families will consider the ‘waiting child’ path to adoption, as we shine a light on some very special kids.
A Closer Look...
Often children with special needs are overlooked when parents initially consider adoption. However, the reality is that many children who are noted as "healthy" do have some special need. And many times, children who are labeled as special needs often have received initial care and the remaining medical needs are very manageable. We believe that when it comes to adoption, EVERY child deserves a closer look. The key is to educate yourself about specific special needs so that you can make informed decisions about the process.
Also, waiting children often have reduced adoption fees and reduced waiting periods for the adoptive parents.
Most adoption agencies are able to provide limited information about a child's history and medical needs, while others may be able to provide a child's entire background. Either way, a child's special need can be researched to help provide prospective adoptive parents with thorough information.
